The EU has its special interests on the Middle East such as economic, security, foreign policy priority and other domestic considerations. Even the United Kingdom has its own interest preference. The basic nature of EU-US relations is still alliance. The EU will cooperate with the US on Iraq, especially on the re-construction after the war.
