The course"History of Marxist Philosophy"has been developed in China for 30 years.Its development is closely connected to the great historical process of socialist moderniza-tion and reform and parallels the process of emancipating the mind and respecting the fact.Thus,the characteristics of the time are reflected in the development process of this course.It has experienced the phases of following the USSR model,drawing on western Marxism and localizing Marxism in China.Reflections on the Russian model helps the Chinese intellectuals to understand the essence of historical materialism;findings and methodology of western Marxism direct their attention to studies of methodology and interpretation of the text.The study of the history of Marxist philosophy in China does not merely recall history.Instead,it stresses the Chinese experience and Chinese issues,resulting in a gradually growing consciousness of developing our own theoretical system.All this has prepared rich academic resources and paved the way for localization of Marxist philosophy in China.
