Being an inner property of modernization, democracy spreads along with the process of global modernization as a global trend. However, there is no prescribed approach or mode for all nations to follow in their efforts to realize democracy. Each nation has to make its own choice.China, for example, with its own particular circumstances and history,is now at a particular development stage of modernization. Therefore, construction of democratic politics in China cannot be done without the leadership of CPC.The paper concludes that promoting social democracy through democracy within the Party should be a rational choice of approach to realization of democracy in China.

The value system is an integration of value concepts, value norms and value dynamics. The norm of value is the actual social manifestation of value concepts and functions as a direct control of value choice in reality that regulates the value orientation. The author holds that we should refer to Marxism for a guideline to distinguish value guidance and value orientation in order to handle them appropriately.Establishment of the core socialist value system that combines the historical and current advantages of socialism requires that we grasp the key issues of value norm construction and institutional innovation, and mobilize the efforts of the whole society.

Value Analysis of the Conception of Justice
    MA Jun-feng, NING Quan-rong
    Teaching and Research    2008, (4): 49-54.
    Abstract1226)      PDF(pc) (705KB)(1652)       Save
In recent years, social justice has become both a focus of attention by people from all social classes, and a heated topic for discussion among theorists. This paper holds that justice is not a descriptive concept, but rather a concept of value and norm.In this sense, understadning of this concept can only be obtained through philosophic analysis of values.Justice is a primary value of an institution. As a meta-norm and a principle of value adjustment, justice functions as a means of tentative solution to the contradiction of freedom and equality, and integrates freedom and equality. As a criterion for fairness,it is expressed by a scale, with "satisfactory" being the upper limit and "acceptable" the bottom line. The concept of justice also implies dichotomies of the form and the essence, the ideal and the reality, the historical dimension and the practical dimension and so on.

    MA Jun-feng
    Teaching and Research    2005, (9): 5-9.
    Abstract1209)      PDF(pc) (579KB)(1599)       Save
Modernity of Marxist philosophy has been developed during the process of successive reconstructions on the basis of its revolutionary reform. Originated from and deeply rooted in Marx’ ideas, Marxist philosophy is a school of philosophy with constant evolution and changes, resulting in a theoretical frame with diversified ideas. In this sense, Marxist philosophy enjoys a wider perspective and historical rationality than philosophy of Marx. It also fits better into the modern society. The author suggests that it is of significance to establish a league of Marxist philosophy, seeking common ground while reserving differences so as to promote more prosperous development of Marxist philosophy.

With recognition of the importance of aspects such as science and technology in reality, the prominent role talented people assume is becoming more obvious. The strategy of empowering our country through better use of human resources and the scientific concept of development not only reflect the demand of social progress, but also opens possibility for more profound studies into Marxist theory of production of people,of which three levels have been established, namely, production of population, production of talented people, and production of men as individuals. Integration of the three may promote more satisfactory implementation of the scientific concept of development in the light of the"people first"policy.
