The strategic idea of progress and surpass by Sun Yisun, Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping is a theoretical summery of the Chinese people’s repeated efforts to reach the objectives set for the 20th century. With the passage of time, the inter relationships of inheriting and developing among the three great figures, the author maintains, coincided the progress Chinese people made in history. In this sense, a close study of this strategic theory will certainly shed light on China’s further attempts to reach the goal of achieving greater development in the face of the challenge from the era of knowledge economy.
