During this process, two schools emerged against the crisis of Fordism: neo-Fordism and post-Fordism. Evidence since the 1990s showed that it is the post-Fordism that represents the direction of evolution in production mode in modern developed capitalist countries, with lean production gradually gaining ground and becoming dominent.
