    Reflections on the Chinese Diplomacy in 2010

    The financial crisis started in 2008 further upgraded China’s position in the international economic system.As a result,China’s rising steps are quickened and the diplomatic space is expanded.However,despite such diplomatic progress there is still evidence that China has met with many challenges in 2010.The background circumstances of these challenges are analyzed and new ideas about China’s future diplomacy is presented.

    New China’s Diplomacy for 60 Years: Achievements, Challenges and Reflection

    The paper starts with a summary of the great achievements of New China’s diplomacy in the past 60 years.The author points out that these achievements have been made mainly in the areas of securing the national state’s interest,promoting peace,development and cooperation in the world,and extending links with the world.The paper then discusses the dilemma China faces in a series of issues areas in the process of transition.At the end of the paper,reflections on some key issues concerning Chinese diplomacy are offered.

    A Study of Non-traditional Security Cooperation in East Asia

    Since the end of the cold-war era,East Asia has experienced many kinds of non-traditional security threat,which has given rise to the development of non-traditional security cooperation.This paper explores the basic characteristics of the current non-traditional security cooperation in East Asia,analyzes major factors that restrict the cooperation.At the end of the paper the author offers a discussion on the current security cooperation mode from the perspective of three kinds of theory.

    Establishment of Chinese Theory of International Relation:Problems and Considerations

    Based on a review of the current situation and findings of researches on international relation in China for the past 20 years, the author proposed that the key problem to be solved concerning China’s international relations is "what kind of theories on international relation do we need". The author then classifies international relation theories into two types, namely, theories of logics and theories of interests. The author holds that it is the responsibility of researchers on international relation in China to establish international relation theories of logics.

    Reinforcing Politics Studies of China’s Foreign Policies

    Among the findings of studies in China’s foreign policies,the ones from the perspective of political studies are insufficient.In this sense,reinforcing political studies of China’s foreign policies is both a new demand of China’s diplomacy and a new research topic in China’s international relations and diplomatic studies with obvious theoretical,academic and policy-making significance.This article then proposes a preliminary research framework that embraces the structure and process of domestic political system,and top political leaders as well.

    Multilateralism and China’s Strategies for A Secure Neighborhood

    After the Cold War, with the changes in international and regional security, China has adopted multiliteral strategies for a secure neighborhood. By analyzing two cases of bordering affairs in which multiliteral strategies were applied the author holds that China’s participation in practice of multiliteralism is meant for maintaining her own benefits as well as to help establish an international mechanism represented by a new concept of security.

    A Constructivism Perspective About Analysis of National Interests

    National identity and national interests is constructed by international political culture. This is the principal idea of the school of constructivism with Alexander Wendt as its representative. This paper attempts to examine the construction mechanism by means of the principal theoretical hypothesis Wendt. Generally Speaking,international norms constructing national interests will go over three stages,namely, origin,socialization,int ernalization.Nevertheless,prerequisite requirements will have to be met before national interests can be successfully constructed.
