Abstract: A decade has passed since General Secretary Xi Jinping delivered an important speech at the symposium discussing the countrys work in philosophy and social sciences. Guided by the Partys innovative theories, particularly General Secretary Xi Jinpings important propositions on flourishing and developing philosophy and social sciences, China has made remarkable progress in advancing the adaptation of Marxism to the Chinese context and the needs of the times, in building disciplinary, academic, and discourse systems for philosophy and social sciences with distinct Chinese characteristics, style and ethos, and in constructing an independent knowledge system. As China embarks on a new journey in the new era, the flourishing and development of its philosophy and social sciences face both rare historic opportunities and serious realworld challenges. To accelerate the development of philosophy and social sciences with Chinese characteristics, we must strengthen toplevel design, explore scientific and effective optimization paths, and make sustained efforts in adhering to the correct political orientation, promoting theoretical innovation, advancing highquality development of the “Three Systems”, strengthening talent cultivation, establishing a scientific evaluation mechanism, enhancing international communication capabilities, and strengthening the Partys leadership over the work in philosophy and social sciences. We will leverage highquality research output to serve national development strategies and contribute wisdom and strength to building a strong country and achieving national rejuvenation.
