Chinas public diplomacy to Central Asian countries at different historical stages has shown the characteristics of establishing confidence and trust among Central Asian countries, improving China perception and impression of Central Asian countries, enhancing the importance and devotion to public diplomacy in Central Asia. Because of the important geopolitical strategic values of Central Asian countries, the competition between great powers such as the US and Russia in Central Asia, and the many common interests between China and Central Asian countries, it is necessary for China to strengthen its public diplomacy towards Central Asian countries. In view of the difference and complexity of Central Asian countries, drawing on the experience of great powers such as the US and Russia, and promoting the “Silk Road Economic Belt” initiative and the “westward strategy”, China should effectively and orderly carry out public diplomacy to Central Asian countries and enhance bilateral relations.
